Director of Technology

Principal Accountabilities
Principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Technology Management

  • Oversees all aspects of the information technology systems and processes for fast-growing Consumer and Operations Research company
  • Develops and delivers against a clear Strategic IT Plan to reach business goals
  • Drives major infrastructure, platform and application initiatives
  • Prepares and manages annual operating and capital budgets consistent with the Strategic IT Plan
  • Develops IT policies and monitors compliance; Fosters a widespread awareness of good technology practices
  • Leads the strategy and planning for the company’s IT infrastructure to assure maximum availability and security
  • Works with business partners across the organization to improve internal processes and business solutions
  • Develops technology and processes to secure client data according to industry-accepted guidelines (HIPPA, FACTA)
  • Implements and oversees an asset inventory and tracking system to aid project planning and accounting
  • Identifies and solves complex technical issues as they arise
  • Assures adequate training and support is available to the internal users of IT services
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, entrepreneurship, and overall excellence within the technology organization

Technology Development

  • Leads ideation, development, and execution of custom software, applications and processes to increase Halverson Group’s custom research, analytic and media capabilities
  • Continuously develops ideas to apply technology and processes in new and innovate ways to solve business problems for internal and external clients

Consulting

  • Participates in pre-engagement activities including client calls, developing responses to RFPs and scoping, projects and scheduling resources
  • Provides external clients with various technical services related to networks, remote access and virtualization, communications, handheld solutions and data acquisition
  • Proactively provides technology recommendations and strategies
  • Properly identifies challenges and implements solutions
  • Has the ability to work with clients across all levels of an organization from site personnel to C-Level management
  • Is able to manage client and internal resources to complete projects within time and budget constraints

Vendor Management

  • Manages the commercial relationships between Halverson Group technology suppliers and developers
  • Provides support for the negotiation of new or renewed contracts as appropriate
  • Identifies needs for vendor services and evaluates multiple offerings to select the best fit
  • Develops internal capabilities to reduce reliance on external vendors when possible

Confidentiality

  • Maintains strict confidentiality related to Halverson Group’s proprietary research methodologies and tools and client findings

Position Requirements

  • Requires BS in related discipline (Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering)
  • 10+ years of experience in related field (Technology Consulting, Innovation Management, Research and Development), including several years in a management/supervisory capacity
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical areas: video management and analytics, video streaming and distribution, mobile application development, networking and data security, data analytics and reporting
  • Strong technical background in engineering, software, hardware, architecture and information technology
  • Ability to manage internal and external resources
  • High degree of creativity and innovation, combined with demonstrated ability to execute ideas
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders and to communicate across a rapidly growing organization
  • Willingness to travel
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and management skills, along with an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit
