Katharina Castañeda, Ph.D.

Director of Market Research

Katharina applies advanced analytical techniques to answer clients’ questions and provide them with actionable insights. She engages in all aspects of the research process (particularly pertaining to segmentations): project scoping, survey development, fielding/data collection, quantitative analysis, results interpretation and story/report development. She has worked with McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Brown Forman, IZEA, Timberland and the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society.

Prior to joining Halverson Group in 2015, Katharina consulted on annual program evaluations for a drug addiction program at the Cook County jail and worked as a research manager in several labs conducting primarily experimental research.

Kathi holds a PhD in Applied Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, where she is now an Adjunct Professor of Research Methods and Statistics. In her dissertation, she investigated the effects of race and crime stereotypes on juror decision-making.
